13th February 2019
On December 15th and 16th of this year, one of the most prestigious driving competitions in the world returns to Andorra: the Andros Trophy. For its 29th edition, the drivers will compete in the third race of this event at the Andorra circuit, located at the top of the port of Envalira, considered the highest in Europe as it is 2,300 m above sea level.
Andros Trophy focuses on driving on ice, giving its viewers the opportunity to attend an impressive event that mixes adrenaline, speed, snow and the opportunity to live a day full of emotions surrounded by an incredible white landscape.
Although motorcycles can also participate, most of the vehicles used in these races are considered like real ice F1 cars with 6 cylinder engines and 340 horses. In addition, as of 2007, the races have had the participation of electric cars, which have the own category ANDROSCAR, promoting the ecological profile of these.
During the third weekend of December, the pilots participating in the Andros Trophy will run two meetings. Each meeting consists of a test session, two qualifying rounds of 4 laps each and a final race in which only the 14 best placed can run. The qualifying rounds assign points to each pilot, which are added at the end of each meeting to determine the winners. This year, the meetings have an additional stage, the "super pole", which can only be accessed by the top 5 drivers of the qualifying rounds, and with which they can earn extra points.
If you are a racing fan, do not miss this prestigious event surrounded by snow, ice and share unique moments with the best riders in the world.
