As this Sunday is the International Yoga Day, we will tell you a little bit more about this discipline that you can also enjoy at the hotel. The practice of yoga was born in India and it is an activity that involves at the same time, your body, mind and spirit thanks to the asanas (soft and slow movements) and the breathing. It is suitable for all ages and, although there are many types, the most extended is Hatha Yoga. In fact, the UN is dedicating one day, starting in 2014, to make the population aware of its benefits: the 21st of June.
Read to the end and you will be persuaded of the properties this exercise has for you.
Take a breath... and sign up for yoga!
Unlike other physical activities, everyone can do them (unless you have a serious injury or impairment, in which case it's best to consult a doctor first). You don't need a lot of physical preparation and you can start at any age. The movements, asanas, are very smooth, controlled and defined and the instructor will guide you at all times. There are different yoga modalities, but they are all based on the same concept: to learn to control the body through the mind. It is a practice that forces you to be very present, to have control over your own body and during the sessions you manage to disconnect from everything.
It's all advantages for the body and mind
With yoga you will manage to improve your physical condition while toning your whole body. Also, you will strengthen bones and muscles, increasing the flexibility of your joints and helping to relieve muscle aches. Best of all... you won't notice the scary sores and burn calories.
Not to mention that it also brings many benefits for the mind. Practicing yoga will go a long way to reducing stress and anxiety. It will also do you a lot of good to sleep better and increase the quality of your sleep. In addition, it will improve your performance and your concentration, because through asanas and meditation you will learn to pay attention to the present moment.
We love yoga, in fact, for two seasons we have been offering this type of course, combining it with kundalini sessions. For next season we are working hard to be able to come back with all the security measures to prevent the spread of covid-19, and to continue offering all kinds of training in our new gym. For the moment we wish you a happy international Yoga day.
