One of our greatest sources of pride is our unwavering commitment to the environment and the mountains that surround us, which are an essential part of our identity. Since the last renovation of our facilities, which began in 2015 and was completed in 2020, we set ourselves a clear goal. We wanted to move towards more sustainable management, minimising the environmental impact of both our processes and our infrastructure.

At Park Piolets, we are committed to energy efficiency.

We use Ecotermia, a clean energy source based on cogeneration using natural gas. Its main advantage lies in its ability to generate electricity and heat simultaneously, which significantly contributes to reducing environmental impact.
Our system is powered by the cogeneration plant located in Soldeu, which allows us to supply hot water and heating to the entire hotel. This approach not only optimises energy consumption, but also significantly reduces polluting emissions.
In addition, we also have two charging stations for electric vehicles, an initiative that promotes sustainable mobility among our guests and visitors.

Sustainable well-being at Park Spa Mountain Wellness Club

We have also incorporated environmentally friendly improvements into our mountain spa. We have replaced the traditional water filtration system in swimming pools and jacuzzis with a more innovative and natural one based on magnesium salts.
This system does not use chemical agents and is highly effective in eliminating bacteria and impurities, keeping the water clean in a natural way. It is also healthier for the body. Unlike conventional methods, this type of filtration does not cause skin or eye irritation.
As an added bonus, magnesium salts help to relax the body and soften the skin and hair, enhancing the wellness experience without compromising sustainability.

How we treat waste

Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in our water and waste management. We are committed to using locally sourced water from the local network, which we filter to provide low mineralisation water without unwanted odours or tastes. This system reduces both transport emissions and the use of packaging, as we use reusable glass bottles.
In addition, we actively participate in the Andorran Government’s National Waste Plan, which focuses on prevention, reuse and recycling. Among the actions we carry out are selective waste collection, separation of cooking oil, the fight against food waste and the use of returnable packaging.

Responsible and local purchasing

In our purchasing decisions, we prioritise local suppliers, thus supporting the local economy. We opt for bulk products to minimise the use of packaging and encourage the consumption of natural, fresh and seasonal foods, thus reducing the environmental impact associated with transport and packaging.

This international seal recognises entities that adopt sustainable practices in their management. In our case, it includes a commitment to locally sourced food and beverages, the availability of bicycle parking and electric charging points, proper waste management through recycling, the use of organic products and the application of green cleaning protocols. In addition, we are committed to renewable energy and energy efficiency in all our facilities.

Awarded by FEDA, Andorra’s electricity company, this seal certifies that our facilities have achieved greater energy efficiency. Thanks to the improvements implemented, we have achieved a significant reduction in electricity and water consumption, thus optimising our resources in a responsible manner.
