If you are a nature and hiking lover, this summer you may want to walk thousands of routes but also to introduce your children to your hobby and make them have as much fun as you practicing it.
Here are some tips to make your children's first expedition perfect.
Choose the itinerary
The first thing to do is to choose a simple and low intensity route and make sure that the day you go on it will be good weather.
Here are some of the hiking trails in Andorra that we recommend you do:
Camí del Toll Bulldozer: This route of 820m will allow you to walk surrounded by nature while you arrive at the Bullidor waterfall. And if you need to take a breather before continuing, in the itinerary you will find a viewpoint from which to see the village and the sanctuary of Meritxell, one of the most iconic buildings in the country.
Camí del Cardemeller: This path of almost 2km is better to choose if your children have reached the age of 10. In it, you will see several Andorran borders and you will cross a pine forest until you reach the picnic area of the Font del Bisbe, where you can rest and refresh before returning home.
Lake of Engolasters: An easy, straight and with very little unevenness. You will cross paths, roads and small waterways until you reach this emblematic lake next to which you can sit or, if you have the corresponding permit, even fish!
Before the tour
Once you have decided which route to take, it is time to prepare the trip. It is better that this step do all together, since this way the children will have curiosity and desire that the day of the ride in the mountain arrives. In addition, you can learn about the flora and fauna typical of Andorra and then recognize everything that you find in your ways.
Enjoy the ride
And the most important ... Have fun! The goal is that everyone enjoys the activity. Let the children explore, stop, play and go at their pace to live 100% this new experience. Try not to mark a distance or a mandatory time of travel as this could frustrate everyone in case your children are very tired and want to finish before reaching the end.
And after a day of walking, come to your room in the Piolets Park & Spa hotel and lie on one of our beds to enjoy a restful sleep.
You can book here your family trekking trip in Andorra and introduce your loved ones to your favorite sport.
