Christma's time in Andorra
Canillo:
Don't miss the traditional Canillo Nativity Scene made up of 200 life-size figures spread throughout the village, from 1 December 2023 to 28 January 2024.
Saturday 9/12/23 at 18h: batucada through the streets of Canillo, starting at Plaça Carlemany.
From 15 to 22/12/23, children can hand in their letters to Santa's magic elves at their stall in Plaça Montaup, from 5pm to 8pm.
On 24/12/23 at 6 pm: Santa Claus will arrive from the Comú de Canillo and will arrive at the central rink of the Ice Palace with a skating show, after he will welcome all the children.
The Midnight Mass will take place on Christmas Eve in the church of Sant Serni and at the exit there will be hot chocolate and mulled wine.
On 29/12/23 at 6 p.m. "Atlantis" travelling show, starting at Plaça Carlemany.
From 2 to 4/01/24, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the royal pages will collect the children's letters to hand them over to the Three Wise Men.
4/01/24 at 5 pm: travelling concert by the group Boozan Dukes.
Encamp and Pas de la Casa:
Santa Lucia market on 2 and 3 December in Encamp.
On 24 December, at 6.30 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive in Pas de la Casa by retrac. At 18h, a parade will start from the Casa Cristo to the Sala de Fiestas with a travelling show, in Encamp.
The Midnight Mass will be held at 19.30h in Sant Pere del Pas de la Casa and at 24h in Encamp in the church of Santa Eulàlia.
Ordino:
From 8 to 10/12/23 the Christmas fair takes place where activities for young and old, animations and street shows are organised.
On 10/12/23 at 11.45 am: performance of "L'Última Ossa d'Ordino" belongs to the "Pyrenean Bear Festival", a living testimony to the cultural and natural wealth of the area, which has been recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Children will have a great time on 24th December with the "Caga Tió" in the main square and from 6 pm with the Santa Claus parade through the streets of the parish. The Midnight Mass will be at 24h in the parish church.
The Andorran New Year's Concert is held in the National Auditorium in Ordino and is conducted by the ONCA (Andorran National Chamber Orchestra) on 1 January at 19h. This year it is dedicated to Strauss.
La Massana:
This year La Massana is opening the Estelàrium, a temporary space dedicated to the stars and planets, with a planetarium where space-themed films will be shown and there will also be food trucks and activities and workshops.
On 24/12/23 at 5 pm Santa Claus will arrive at Les Fontetes square and at midnight the traditional Midnight Mass will take place in the church of Sant Iscle and Santa Victòria.
Andorra la Vella:
In the capital you will find the traditional Christmas market "el Poblet de Nadal" from 24 November to 31 December, with typical articles of this time of the year and handmade products from the Principality. There are activities, live music and a local gastronomy area. Children will be delighted with the synthetic skating rink and the magical post office, where they can deliver their letters to Santa's magical elves. In the area of the old fire station you will find the Christmas park, where the little ones will have fun with a traditional carousel and a flying fairytale. Here you can also see the light and sound show "Symphony of Lights".
On 25 November, 2, 9, 16, 23 and 29 December, animations and travelling shows will fill the streets of the capital.
On 24/12/23 from 6 p.m. Santa Claus will stroll through the streets of the capital with his arrival at "el Poblet de Nadal" and the Midnight Mass will take place in the churches of Andorra la Vella and Santa Coloma.
Sant Julià de Lòria:
From 26/12/23 to 06/01/24 performance of the play "Els Pastorets".
Escaldes-Engordany:
From 1 to 10 December, from 18h, stroll through "Sabors d'Advent" a Christmas market with craft area, second-hand Christmas objects, gastronomy area with specialities from local chefs, children's workshops and live performances.
On 2/12/23 at 21h30 comes the gospel night.
From 22 to 24/12/23: performance of "Un homenatge als Pessebres Vivents" (A Tribute to the Living Nativity Scenes).
On 24/12/23 from 19h30 Santa Claus will walk through the streets of the parish announcing his arrival and will end up in the Coprínceps square to collect the letters from the little ones.
At 24h the Midnight Mass will take place in the church of Sant Pere Màrtir.
