Find out what's new in Grandvalira for next winter

Grandvalira Resorts has announced the improvements and new features for you to enjoy from 5 December.

We were expecting it! And it has happened. Grandvalira Resorts, as usual, informs us about the improvements it has implemented in its resorts in mid-November. We tell you about it here.

According to the announcement issued by Grandvalira on 1st December, Grandvalira Resorts has moved the opening to 5 December, if weather conditions are suitable.

Improvements in the infrastructures
The 2023-24 season will see you skiing on 3 new red pistes: Seig, La Font and La Pala, totalling 5 kilometres in total. They have been created in the Canillo sector, in the Emcampadana area. Furthermore, you will also find a new TSF 4 SEIG chairlift. With this extension, Grandvalira now has a total of 215 km, 140 pistes of all levels and 76 lifts.
The Soldeu sector has remodelled its children's snow garden, enlarged the nursery and the Tarter Vell ski storage area.
The resort has also improved the section of the Port-Grau piste linking the Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig sectors.
And in Pas de la Casa, the old service building has been replaced by the "Costa Rodona 2,222", which offers a modern and enlarged ski locker, with 230 lockers and sales points, among other services. This year, the Kids Forest in this sector has a new circuit with more modules and play elements for families.

Snow activities
Since this season, Soldeu has one more ski mountaineering circuit in addition to the rest that already existed in the resort. It has also created six new snowshoe trails in the El Tarter, Canillo and Soldeu sectors.
The 3 snowparks have renewed some freestyle modules and incorporated some completely new ones.

Respect for the environment
Grandvalira remains firmly committed to respecting the environment and every year implements actions to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.
For this season it has replaced 88 snow-growing snow blowers with the latest generation units which save up to 10% energy. Moreover it has acquired a new, more efficient snow groomer for the snowparks.
The snow groomers at Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo will be piloted using plant-based fuels that will reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 80%.
The resort has also incorporated new charging points for electric cars for skiers travelling with this type of vehicle. And continuing with the electricity saving measures, it has installed more photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Soldeu machine garage and the cable car.
