Get ready for what's to come! Year after year, Grandvalira Resorts surprises us with improvements to its resorts: Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís. The resorts work continuously to offer more comfort, technology that makes everything easier and fun moments worth repeating, without forgetting sustainability. Start warming up, the opening of the slopes is scheduled for 5 th December, as long as the weather and snow conditions make it possible.
Grandvalira: Encamp, Canillo, Soldeu, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa sectors
New snow cannons
As in recent years, the resort continues to invest to improve the artificial snow production system A total of 129 snow cannons have been renewed to ensure the maximum guarantee of the ‘white gold’ that we all look for on the slopes during the season. 80 have been replacements for previous models and 49 are completely new, all of which are essential for extending the snowmaking network. In addition, the new models achieve 90% energy efficiency, far superior to older models. In addition to the improvement and increase in the number of cannons, the Encampanada lake in the Canillo sector has a capacity of 50,000 m3 to produce snow for cultivation.
New FIS-approved route
Another of this season's new features is the new Estadi Eslàlom Creand slope, approved by the FIS (International Ski Federation) for high-level training. A ski lift has also been installed to ease training sessions. The new track is located next to the Avet World Cup piste
New commitment to Drytooling in Grau Roig
Grau Roig has included a new circuit for Drytooling, an activity that combines climbing with ice axes and crampons on rocks and ice. Located just 5 minutes from the Pessons restaurant, this space will be operational in both winter and summer. Among the new features are a two-pitch route designed for beginners and two new one-pitch routes for intermediate climbers.
Multifunctional building in Pas de la Casa
The construction of the new phase of the multifunctional building at Pas de la Casa will start again in the summer of 2025. This project began in 2024 and will be completed in 2027. It is planned to have a surface area of 3,200 square metres, with 3 floors, ticket offices, shops, restaurants, ski equipment rental and a ski school.
Other improvements
The Tarter snowpark has new modules. The Encamp, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa snow kindergartens have renewed some of their equipment. Lastly, the Grau Roig nursery has expanded its facilities to increase its capacity and diversify the play area.
Pal Arinsal Station
Connecting the two sectors
Grandvalira Resorts continues to work on the ski link between Pal and Arinsal. Last season, it began with the replacement of the new 6-seater Port Negre chairlift in Arinsal, which is 1.5 km longer than the old one and can transport up to 2,400 people per hour.
Ski & Bike hub in the Pyrenees
Pal Arinsal consolidates its position as the reference resort for Ski&Bike in the Pyrenees with a great novelty: its Bike Park, internationally recognised, will also be open in winter. During the ski season, it will operate daily, weather and snow conditions permitting. The lower part of the park will be put into operation, offering five routes with a total of 16 kilometres of trails and 700 metres of gradient, for the enjoyment of mountain bike lovers.
Improvements to facilities and services
The resort has decided to optimise the production of snow and improve its snowmaking system, incorporating more efficient snow cannons and snow groomers. In addition, this season the Arinsal snowpark will have new modules that will enhance the user experience. In addition, the Pal and Arinsal snow gardens are launching a new educational programme to enrich the educational offer for children.
Ordino Arcalís ski station
A commitment to the family public
In recent years, the Planells beginners' area has grown significantly, from 3,500 m2 to 6,000 m2, and has been equipped with a new tele-ski since last season. Accesses have been created to improve the connection with the car park, the ticket offices and the ski school. For the little ones, the Freeride Kids circuit has been extended and now has a new tunnel, which can be traversed both above and below. In addition, Kids Forest has added new dubbings to increase the fun and adrenaline rush for young skiers.
Ice climbing returns to La Coma
Ordino Arcalís resumes the ice climbing offer at La Coma de Arcalís, thanks to the GMG (Grandvalira Mountain Guides). This impressive waterfall, when conditions permit, is transformed into a unique terrain with three ice pitches, several goulottes and even mixed sections, offering a unique experience for winter climbing enthusiasts.
New pond to boost snow production
This season, work will begin on the construction of a new snowmaking pond in the La Coma sector. With a capacity of 36,000 m³, it is expected to be fully operational for the 2025-2026 season.
Infrastructure improvements
The resort's emblematic restaurants, such as those at La Coma, Planells and El Hortell, have been completely refurbished, while the snowmaking network has been improved with more advanced equipment and modern snow grooming machines.
Après-ski and festivals in Grandvalira
L'Abarset, the après-ski venue of reference in Andorra, located in the El Tarter sector, has presented its programme with international DJs, Bresh parties, Brunch Electronik, The Peak parties, and much more.
The Hinernation Festival is back for another year in Pas de la Casa from 14 to 16 March. In addition to the famous high-altitude dinners, some of which are scheduled at Coma de Arcalís, during the full moon nights.
Sports competitions in Grandvalira:
- FIS Alpine Alpine Andorra 2025 European Cup: on 3 and 4 February, the Soldeu sector will host two men's giant slalom events, where promising young alpine skiers will compete to stand out on the European circuit.
- Launch Kilometre World Cup 2025: from 2 to 4 April, speed skiing will return to the Riberal KL piste in Grau Roig (Grandvalira), with 1,050 m in length and 200 m of vertical drop, where athletes will seek to reach speeds close to 200 km/h.
